コモンズとはかつてのイギリスの近世の共同牧草地を表す言葉でした。日本でも入会林野はコモンズとして知られています。山林を地域住民が、話し合いを通じて乱獲や乱伐を防ぎ管理していました。これは、住民が共同で管理し、環境を保護しながら、収益を人々に分配し、コミュニティー全体の豊かさを増進する協働的な仕組みであり、サスティナブルでした。しかしヨーロッパでは産業革命以降、日本では明治維新以降、貨幣経済の発展と共にコモンズは失われていきました。今日におけるグローバリズム経済や中央集権インターネットもこの延長線上にあります。

The term "commons" originally referred to communal pastures in early modern England. In Japan, communal forests are also known as commons. Local residents managed these forests through discussions, preventing overharvesting and indiscriminate logging. This was a collaborative and sustainable system where residents jointly managed the land, protected the environment, distributed profits among people, and increased the overall prosperity of the community. However, with the development of the monetary economy after the Industrial Revolution, the commons were lost. Today's globalized economy and centralized internet are extensions of this trend.
Decentralized technologies, symbolized by local cryptocurrencies and DAOs, will revitalize the commons in cities and expand people's well-being.

The value of a neighborhood refers to social capital (community-based value created by people's connections). This includes values such as sharing, mutual assistance, co-creation, natural capital, and common lands. These are values of well-being that arise from the commons. Since the modern era, the extreme concentration of population in cities and the rise of competitive societies due to capitalism have led to the loss of the value of people's connections (neighborhoods). We aim to revitalize the value of neighborhoods through local cryptocurrencies, DAOs, and AR technology.

The well-being economy is a concept proposed by economist Kate Raworth. She argues that the current economy should be transformed into a more "regenerative" and "distributive" system, prioritizing "people's well-being (GDW)" over "GDP growth." Specifically, she sets forth five goals: Dignity (everyone is in a state of comfort, safety, and happiness); Nature (a safe natural world for all life); Equity (justice at the heart of the economic system, with a significant reduction in the gap between the richest and poorest); Connection (citizens participate in local communities and economic activities); and Participation (institutions that foster a sense of belonging and common interests). For GDW to be achieved, a shift from a debt-currency system that demands unlimited growth to a resource-based local currency system is essential. XR CITY LAB will embody these values and contribute to the well-being of people around the world through the implementation of local cryptocurrencies.
