Keiichi Matsuda / Hyper-Reality。2016年に公開されたKeiichi Matsuda / HYPER-REALITYでは、現実世界に多重に貼り付けられたAR広告やARでカムフラージュした通り魔に襲われる表現がディストピアなXR Cityの象徴的イメージとして話題になった。
一方で急速なテクノロジーの進化は、さまざまな問題も包含しています。フェイクニュース、フィルターバブル、超格差社会、超デジタル監視社会化など、中央集権インターネットやグローバリズム経済に起因するさまざまなリスクに直面しています。それゆえ、XR CITY LABは、中央集権的ではない自律分散型の都市DXによる「ウェルビーイングな未来都市」をヴィジョンに掲げ、挑戦しています。
On the other hand, rapid technological evolution encompasses a variety of problems. We are facing various risks arising from the centralized Internet and globalized economy, such as fake news, filter bubbles, hyper-gap, and hyper-digital surveillance society. Therefore, XR CITY LAB is challenging itself with a vision of a "wellbeing city of the future" through a non-centralized, autonomous, decentralized urban DX.
Commons
XR CITY LABはデジタルなコモンズを都市に実装します。コモンズとはかつてのイギリスの近世の共同牧草地を表す言葉でした。日本でも入会林野はコモンズとして知られています。山林を地域住民が、話し合いを通じて乱獲や乱伐を防ぎ管理していました。これは、住民が共同で管理し、環境を保護しながら、収益を人々に分配し、コミュニティー全体の豊かさを増進する協働的な仕組みであり、サスティナブルでした。しかし産業革命以降、貨幣経済の発展と共にコモンズは私有地化され失われていきました。今日におけるグローバリズム経済と中央集権インターネットもこの延長線上にあります。未来に向けて開発されるスマートシティーにおいて、自立分散化したテクノロジーの重要性が増しています。それはデジタル空間の中に失われたコモンズを再生し、人々のウェルビーイングを拡張します。
XR CITY LAB implements digital commons in the city. Commons was once a term used in early modern England to describe communal meadows. In Japan, admission forests are also known as commons. Local residents managed the forests through discussions to prevent over-harvesting and over-cutting. This was a cooperative and sustainable system in which residents jointly managed the forests, protecting the environment while distributing the profits to the people and promoting the wealth of the community as a whole. However, after the Industrial Revolution, with the development of the monetary economy, the commons were privatized and lost. Today's globalized economy and centralized Internet are an extension of this trend. As smart cities develop for the future, self-sustaining decentralized technology becomes increasingly important. It will revitalize the lost commons in the digital space and extend people's wellbeing.
Conviviality
Conviviality（自立共生）とは中央集権化に対する言葉として使われます。新しいデジタルコモンズとは、インターネット黎明期に生まれた自由なデジタル共有空間「Web1.0」の再生とも言えます。元々、ウェブ空間はコモンズ（共有地）でした。しかし、Web2.0の発達と共にビッグテックによって「囲い込み」が行われていきました。それは産業革命以前のコモンズが貨幣経済によって共有地から所有地へと変化していったプロセスと重なります。インターネットにおける中央集権化は、結果としてパンデミックや戦争による物流、金融、情報の分断など「接続性の暴力」を生み出しています。今日、世界的に広がりつつあるWeb3.0ムーブメントはインターネットをより民主的で分散されたものにしていく流れです。XR CITY LABでは、ブロックチェーン、AR、SNS技術による自立分散化を目指しています。
Conviviality is used as a term against centralization. The new digital commons is a rebirth of Web 1.0, the free digital shared space that emerged at the dawn of the Internet. Originally, the Web space was a commons. However, with the development of Web 2.0, it was "enclosed" by big tech. This process overlaps with the process by which the pre-industrial commons was transformed from common land to owned land by the monetary economy. Centralization in the Internet has resulted in the "violence of connectivity," including pandemics and wars that have fragmented logistics, finance, and information. Today, the Web 3.0 movement, which is spreading globally, is making the Internet more democratic and decentralized, and XR CITY LAB aims to make it self-sustaining and decentralized through blockchain, AR, and SNS technologies.
Neighborhood
ネイバーフッドの価値とは、社会関係資本（人々のつながりが生み出すコミュニティー的な価値）のことを言います。共有、共助、共創、自然資本、共有地などの価値があります。これらはコモンズから生まれるウェルビーイングの価値です。近代以降、資本主義による都市への極度な人口集中と競争社会は地域の人々のつながりの価値（ネイバーフッド）を破壊してきました。XR CITY LABは場所に紐づいたテクノロジーであるAR、地域SNS、地域仮想通貨によりネイバーフッドを再生します。
Neighborhood values are social relational capital (community values created by people's connections). These values include sharing, co-help, co-creation, natural capital, and common land. These are the values of wellbeing that come from the commons. The XR CITY LAB will revitalize the neighborhoods by using place-based technologies such as AR, local social networking, and local virtual currency.
Sustainability & Authenticity
街を仮想化することは、省資源に貢献します。常に消費され変化する屋外広告やサインを仮想化すれば、街の景観を美しくし、省資源化に貢献できます。また地域にコモンズが再生されることで、地域内でのシェアリング、リユースが促進され、サスティナビリティに貢献します。それは同時に、非破壊的な開発、美しい自然や街などのオーセンティシティーを守ることにつながります。
Virtualizing the city contributes to resource conservation. Virtualizing outdoor advertisements and signs, which are constantly consumed and changed, can beautify the cityscape and contribute to resource conservation. The regeneration of the commons in the community will also promote sharing and reuse within the community, contributing to sustainability. At the same time, it will lead to non-destructive development and the preservation of authenticity, such as beautiful nature and towns.
Diversity
中央集権的な行政システムや新自由主義的な経済システムは、成長と引き換えに地域の独自文化や多様性を喪失させ、画一的な景観を生み出してきました。テクノロジーもまた効率化を進めるあまり、画一性を高めてしまう傾向を持っています。場所に紐づいたXRは、多重化された情報レイヤーによって、文化的多様性を生み出します。地域の自立分散化、ネイバーフッドの活性化、コモンズの拡張もまた、多様性のある地域の独自経済圏、文化圏ののための重要な価値観となります。
Centralized administrative systems and neo-liberal economic systems have led to the loss of unique local culture and diversity in exchange for growth, creating uniform landscapes. Technology also tends to increase uniformity in the pursuit of efficiency. XR tied to place creates cultural diversity through multiplexed information layers. Local self-decentralization, neighborhood revitalization, and expansion of the commons are also important values for the unique economic and cultural spheres of diverse regions.
Wellbeing Economy
ウェルビーイングエコノミーとは、経済学者のケイト・ラワース氏が提唱する概念です。現在の経済をより「再生的」で「分配的な」システムにすべきであり、「GDPの成長」ではなく「人々のウェルビーイング（GDW)」を重視すべきだとしています。具体的には5つの目標を掲げています。尊厳 (すべての人が状適、安全、幸調に替らす)。自然 (すべての生命にとっての、安全な自然界)。公平さ (超済システムの中心にあらゆる次元の正義があり、最富裕層と最貧困層の格差が大幅に縮小される)。つながり (市民が地域社会や地域に根ざした経済活動に参加する)。参加 (帰属意識と共通の利益をもたらす制度)。XR CITY LABでは、不安定化する世界において、この価値を体現し、世界の人々のウェルビーイングに貢献してまります。
The well-being economy is a concept proposed by economist Kate Raworth. It states that the current economy should be made more "regenerative" and "distributive" and that the emphasis should be on "people's wellbeing (GDW)" rather than "GDP growth". Specifically, the report sets out five goals Dignity (everyone is in shape, safe, and happy). Nature (a safe natural world for all life). Equity (justice in all its dimensions is at the center of a system of superpayments, and the gap between the richest and the poorest is greatly reduced). Connectedness (citizens participate in local communities and community-based economic activities). XR CITY LAB embodies these values in an increasingly unstable world and contributes to the wellbeing of people around the world.
